You pull your favorite pair of pants out of your closet, take them off of the hanger to put them on, and you notice they are a wrinkled mess. No, you do not have to heat up the iron if you choose not to. Luckily for you, there are five easy ways to get your clothes wrinkle-free without standing over an ironing board. Some of these ways are quick and easy and some require a bit more time.
1. Damp Towel
Many people do not realize they can iron their clothes with a damp towel. Lay your wrinkled piece of clothing on a flat, hard surface. Put a damp towel over the wrinkled area, press and smooth the towel with your hands, and remove the towel. Let your clothing remain on the flat surface. When your item is dry, the wrinkles will be gone.
2. Blow Dryer
It is reasonable to think that your blow dryer is only for your hair, but you are wrong. Your blow dryer makes a great impromptu iron. Simply hang your wrinkled piece of clothing, turn your blow dryer on the hottest setting, hold the dryer about an inch away from your clothing, and blow the clothing dry until the wrinkles are gone.
3. Shower Buddy
You have to take a shower anyway, so take your clothing with you. Hang your clothing in the shower where it will not get wet. Take a hot shower as you normally would, allowing the steam to loosen and remove the wrinkles from your clothing. It really is that easy.
4. Spray Bottle and Fabric Softener
Take your wrinkled item and hang it up in the open. Add warm water and a little bit of fabric softener to a spray bottle. Shake the bottle, and lightly mist your article of clothing with the mixture. As the item dries, the wrinkles will not only disappear, but the item will smell like it just came out of the wash.
Put a kettle of water on your stove and heat it. When the kettle whistles, remove it from the stove. Hold the steaming spout about an inch from the wrinkled portion of your clothing item. As the steam hits the wrinkles, it will loosen them, causing them to fall out. This is similar to the shower method described above.
Having a wrinkled piece of clothing does not mean that you have to drag out your ironing board. These five methods for releasing wrinkles from your fabric really do work. Give them all a try to see which one works best for you.
